Drug and Alcohol addiction affects the lives of millions of people. It can tear at the heart and soul of families, their values and the overall family structure. The Alcohol Treatment Directory was created as a resource for substance abuse, addiction and rehab education.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration): SAMHSA's National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI) is the Nation's one-stop resource for information about substance abuse prevention and addiction treatment.
National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism: NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems. Although they had founded their own national society and their own treatment program, people recovering from alcoholism in the 1960's realized that Americans did not recognize the alcohol-dependent person's plight. Thus, a few dedicated individuals set out to establish, through Federal legislation, a nationwide effort to combat alcoholism.
